At the beginning of the 2007-2008 season there was one big question that people had regarding our championship chances: Can Rajon Rondo run the point effectively and distribute the ball to the big three? This question was soon answered as we started the season at 20-2 and went on to win a championship.
Since the beginning of that year Rondo has become one of the best true point guards in the league. He isn't really know for his scoring, as he really doesn't need to with the Big Three picking up the large quanity of the points. He is very unselfish, makes the right decisions and distributes the ball well to everybody on the team. This has earned a lot of praise from his fellow teammates and coaches.
Many people believe he should have been an allstar last year, and have even put him in the superstar category. I personally think he is the second best point guard in the league right now, behind Chris Paul.
This year coming into training camp we have heard a lot of good news about Rondo. We have heard that he worked with Mark Price on his shooting during the offseason. This has been one of his weaknesses in the past, if he can turn his shooting around watch out!!! When asked about the way Rondo looks so far this preseason KG responded: Via Boston Herald "I'm telling you, man, he's looking great, To me he's the best looking person in here, and we have some (good looking) people from Ray (Allen) to Rasheed (Wallace) to Big Baby. Lester (Hudson) looks good.(But Rondo) looks razor sharp, If you were to slide down Rondo right now you'd probably be cut. Seriously, he looks that razor sharp. He looks that strong."
If Rondo has improved from last year I have a couple words for Danny Ainge, LOCK HIM UP!!!! Rondo has said he wants a long term deal and I could definetly put up with seeing him in green for ten more years.
