Final Score Doesn't Tell the Truth

Win or Lose, I would have considered this game a sucess for the Cetlics. I was impressed right from the get-go. Garnett's first jumper, money. Garnett's second jumper, money. It couldn't have started off any better for Garnett, proving to us that he still has it. Garnett of course was the focus of the game, and he didn't dissapoint (6pts 5 Rebounds). He looked like he was running up and down the floor smoothly, and playing good defense.

I was also impressed with the Celtics overall team defense to begin the game, they didn't allow Houston to score for the first four minutes of the game. The rest of the starters looked fairly good in the limited amount of minutes they recieved.

The Bench came in and dominated, Sheed (6pts 2 Rebounds 1 Tech :)) was spreading the floor knocking down shots from deep, and Marquis (7pts 5 Assist) was getting to the rim and scoring. Eddie (9pts) also looked comfortable at point most of the time, although there was a few times he didn't look so smooth. I also liked to see the play of other players including: Lester Hudson, Scal, Shelden Williams, and Sweetney.

If Hudson (9 Pts)  can continue playing like he did tonight there is no doubt that he will make the 15-man roster. He could even get some quality minutes at point. He looked like he was in control, showed a lot of hustle, and even showed us he has some range by knocking down a three.

When I mentioned Scal I guess I didn't mean his overall play, although he didn't do terrible. I mentioned his name mostly because of the impressive 10 foot running hook he made in the second quarter.

Shelden Williams (3pts 5 Rebounds)  stood out in a few ways. He seemed to be hustling up and down the floor all night, and did not take any crap down in the paint. He also had a very mean dunk in the second quarter.

Sweetney is the underdog story, who I really hope makes the team, but I'm afraid he will not. Sweetney had 10 points and led the Celtics in scoring. He looked very smooth considering his somewhat large body mass. He was 4-4 from the free throw line, and I really hope the Celtics give him a shot over a guy like Giddens (1pt in 11 minutes).

Overall good game for the Celtics despite the loss. I am excited for the next game and think we have the team to get it done this year.
