It's the preseason so we are going to see alot of the extended bench, correct? Well that was the case for game 1, but in game 2 last night the starters and immediate bench got alot of playing time. I think Doc has come set, to some extent, on the rotation he is going to be doing thoughout the regular season.
I really expected to see alot of playing time out of players like Hudson and Williams during this preseason. I thought we might want to test it out and see if Hudson can maybe spot Rondo a little during the regular season. It appears this probably isn't the case and the players who received extended minutes last night will be the players we see on the court consistently throughout the rest of the preseason. It looks like Doc is set on having Marquis come in and man the point with help from House. Shelden Willilams has apparently dropped to the position of only coming in during extreme situations. This is about what we expected anyways, but assumed maybe the preseason would be there to reinforce our beliefs.
Overall, I think this might be the right thing to do. Get the new players and the new bench together with the chemistry that the starters already have, for the start of the regular season instead of messing around. With new guys it seems more important to get the players who you expect to be on the floor the minutes now so they are prepared when the games matter, instead of trying to figure it out on the opener in Cleveland.
