Rondo - Toughest Celtic to Understand

I would have thought the toungue lashing he got from the regional media as well as Doc and Danny would straighten him out. If that didn't work, then maybe the trade rumors that were being stirred up would be icing on the cake.

I don't know, though. I still question his maturity. I love his game. He is a great basketball player (when he decides to focus) and is very intelligent. But I can't help but notice little things that make me wonder.

There were 2 things he had to work on this offseason: jump shooting and free throws. I haven't seen either of them improving thus far this preseason. Last I checked the other night he was 5-13 from the free throw line. He has made a couple of pull up jumpers but outside of that has not wowed me. I find it hard to believe you can bust it all summer working on a jumper then come in and shoot with the same ability as the year before. The biggest question is what did Rondo do to improve himself individually this summer? Everything else he does is with team play. (i.e. assists, steals, rebounding)

Then he topped it off last night. When Shelden Williams got called for a foul, KG stood right up and gave it to the ref. Everyone knows KG isn't messing around. Garnett would stand up and cuss an ump out at a 2nd grade tee ball game. He was supporting the players on the court like he always does. It doesn't matter if its the 4th quarter with 3 minutes left. Meanwhile, Rondo is beside him giggling. I don't get it. That makes it seem like Rondo is the only one treating these like meaningless games.

If there is anyone who has faith in any player that wears a green jersey its me. Trust me - I backed up Marbury on end until late this summer. It is easy to pick out the little things in a player with as much talent as Rajon Rondo. Therefore, I will sit and wait patiently as Rondo proves me wrong throughout the season.
