For all of you that didn't know by now Gino's Jungle has been on the hunt for Celtics writers. We have made it our goal to provide our readers with reliable material from people who know what they are talking about. So far we have been very lucky in our search for new writers. Last week we added Dirk van Boxtel to the writing staff, and this week we have another addition.
The new man on campus goes by the name of Matt Rury. For those of you active in the Celtics twitter world, Matt goes by the name of @TeamGreenTruth. Matt is a diehard Celtics fan who jumped at the opportunity to share his Celtics knowledge with fans around the world wide web. He is lucky enough to be a current season ticket holder. As you will see in an upcoming post, Matt's experience as a season ticket holder is very intriguing.
To give you readers some insight on Matt we conducted a quick Question & Answer segment with him:
Q: How long have you been a Celtics fan, and how did it all start?
A: I'd like to say I've been a Celtics fan my entire life but I think my earliest memory was actually on a family trip to Hawaii in 1992. I can't remember who they were playing but I remember John Bagley hitting a 3-pointer and being fouled to make it a 4-point play. Since then I've followed the team through thick and thin.
Q: Who is your favorite Celtic of all time, and your best memory of this player?
A: My favorite Celtic of all time would have to be Bill Russell but obviously all of my memories of him came after he was long retired. Next in line has to be the Chief, Robert Parish. I attended the basketball camp he ran with Dee Brown, it was amazing to see him up close and personal and hear him speak to us once in a while.
Q: Why did you decide to join the GJ writing staff, and what do you think you will be able to bring to "The Jungle"?
A: Well I've always enjoyed talking and chatting about the Celtics and I try to never miss a game. I figured this would be a good way to get my opinion out to more than just my friends and family as well as provide some insight into what goes on inside a diehard's head sometimes
So there is a little information about Matt. Please give him a warm welcome into the great community we have here in "The Jungle". Make sure to check in often to see what Matt is up to here at Gino's Jungle. From us here at Gino's Jungle, we welcome you and look forward to working with you.
