Ever since the Celtics waived Lester Hudson, the Boston Celtics seem to have a slight interest in acquiring another point guard. More than likely their focus will be on bringing in a veteran player who can bring leadership to the team..
"We like Lester a lot, but that is an important roster spot,'' Danny Ainge said. "There are a lot of good players available and this gives us an opportunity to see what is out there and if they can meet our needs as we get near to the playoffs, a chance to get somebody who can help us win this year.''
The Celtics have not come out and said they are searching for anyone special, but they do seem to be keeping an eye on that open roster spot. They have been looking at Rafer Alston and Marko Jaric, as their contracts have been bought out and they look to move to different teams. The Celtics are looking at everybody right now; however, I would be surprised if they looked at the vaseline-eater.
