BOBCATS 80 CELTICS 104
The TD Garden has not been "Gino's Jungle" for quite some time. It has been a house of horrors for the C's since the very beginning of this year. Blah Blah... Enough negativeness. The Celtics waxed the Charlotte Bobcats tonight with great defense, and high energy.
It sure feels nice to be able to sit at this computer and be proud of the way the Celtics played. It has been a long time coming. Right from the very beginning of this game, Boston looked like they were ready. The bench came in in the 2nd quarter and strung the lead out to 17. Like we have become accustomed to, that lead slipped, but the starters lifted the team back up. The starting 5 were a little flat, but then after they got a little motivation, they played with heart. This got the lead back up to 9 by halftime.
Paul Pierce led the effort tonight. He was much more explosive to the basket, and was running the court harder than he has in some time. The great thing was he only had to play 26.5 minutes. He scored more points, than he played minutes, by putting in 27 points on 9-13 shooting and 4-6 from behind the arc. Maybe, just maybe... Well hopefuly this is the turning point in The Truths season (back to where he started).
In other non news, Nate Robinson was a spark again off the bench. It is non news because it has become what we expect. It is awesome to watch, and very fun to watch. He is like Rondo, in that he is everywhere at the same time. There is never a lack of hustle. He is like a 10 year old buzzing around everywhere, and they have all of this energy and you just cant figure out why. Nate has more than filled in for Eddie, and hopefully he continues to earn his playing time.
This was the best played game the Celtics have played since the first 2 weeks of the season. They played for (almost) all 48 minutes, and looked determined on their home court. Tonight... the TD Garden was Gino's Jungle. As KG said in his post game chat, Gino had to wipe some dust off, but he got out there to party with the fans. The Celtics will go to Philadelphia to play the 76ers on Friday night.
