Here at Gino's Jungle we like to give credit to other Celtics blogs and news sources around the web. Although we do own our own blog we are constantly reading great material from other Celtics news sources. With that being said, we would like to take the time to recognize the great work that's out there and give you some good reads for your downtime. Here is today's daily dip of Celtics news.
Celtics 17 (Graham Brunell): Where a Playoff Game Can Turn 40 Seconds Into 10 Minutes In More Ways Than One
"What do I think about it today? I think it painfully overshadowed a good victory from Boston, I think Miami is ecstatic about the decision from Richardson to walk over and start trouble with Garnett, and I think I wasted 10 minutes of my life listening to Hubie Brown break down an NBA fight and watching the replay dozens of times."
Celtics Town (Jay King): Jermaine O'Neal calls Celtics front-runners
"What I’m curious to know is how, exactly, O’Neal knows what the Celtics are like when they’re losing? The Heat have now lost four straight games to Boston this season, and 12 of the teams’ last 13 meetings overall. So, umm, Jermaine? Maybe you should actually beat the Celtics once or twice before you say they don’t talk as much when they’re losing."
Red's Army (John Karalis): Public Enemy #1
"Ladies and Gentlemen... we have ourselves a mark. Quentin Richardson. We need a chant. We need signs. We need ideas. We need to make this man's life a living hell."
North Station Sports (Nick Gelso): Joakim Noah, I'd Be Worried About Shaq's 400lb Elbows
"I’ll tell you what, these guy’s are cry babies. Put any of these guy’s in Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson’s NBA and they would not have lasted a quarter. If Noah is crying about the pain an elbow thrown by Garnett earlier in the season is causing him now, I’d like to see him shatter after accepting a Kevin McHale clothes-line or a Larry Bird elbow to the face (Kareem) in 1984. Noah would have been permanently paralyzed."
Celtics Blog (Greg Payne): Tony Allen finally seems to get it
"But Tony Allen? Well, quite frankly, yes. Ray Allen took an elbow to the nose in the first quarter, which appeared to disorient him for the remainder of the game. Strangely enough, it was one of the best things that happened to the Celtics all night, as Tony Allen checked into the game and proceeded to wreak havoc on the Miami Heat. Now, there's certainly a difference between just cracking Doc Rivers's rotation, and taking that opportunity to become a playoff savior. But ultimately, that's what Tony Allen is this morning: The savior of Game 1 of the 2010 NBA Playoffs for the Boston Celtics."
