Ray Allen #20 Of The Boston Celtics Celebrates

Heat 77  Celtics 106

Celtics Lead Series 2-0

Amazing. Purely astonishing. The team I saw tonight is the team I want to see every night. Literally, I will play this game over and over until next season starts, and if I were Doc Rivers, I would suggest my players do the same. If they could do this every night, we'd be hanging banners left and right. The amount of teamwork the C's left out on the court tonight showed that with or without KG on the floor, he's still in their minds. They played with not only emotion but skill. The basketball gods definitely answered the Celtics prayers tonight as they destroyed Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat in Boston.

It surley didn't hurt the C's ego to put up the first points of the game with a clean three by Pierce, and it only got better as the game went on. Although they ended the first quarter tied with Miami 23 a piece there was no where to go but up. Ray Allen was the only starter to not make a single shot, and the team had blown a 9 point lead to end the quarter tied.

The second quarter is where the slaughter began to take place, with ten minutes left in the second quarter the Green went on a 21-0 run. Ray had finally shot the ball and hit two threes while he was at it. The C's brought the Miami Heat to their lowest scoring post season quarter in franchise history (I believe thats what I heard, correct me if I am wrong). This is the type of basketball team I want to represent Boston.

They weren't done yet. In the third Ray and Davis put on a show, back and forth Ray hit a three (all of which from virtually the same spot) and Davis would come back with a layup. The pair were unstoppable. Ray had 17 of his 25 points in the third. Again with ten to go the C's went on another run this time 18-0 before Ray fouled Anthony. They outshot the heat  36-26 in the quarter.

The fourth quarter seemed to bring a little more even scoring while the Celts held on comfortably to their lead (sometimes 30+) Erik Spoelstra even turned to his assistant coach and asked if he had any other ideas. There was just no way around the massive wall of green the Heat offense faced tonight. The C's did infact hold on to their lead to win it 106-77.

Davis closed out the game with 23 points, 7 points higher than his last year post season average. The Celts seemed to realize that it's all about staying up on defense, they walked away from the game with 50 rebounds (10 offensive and 40 defensive), Rondo and Davis led the game for rebounds with 7 each. Ray was the top scorer tonight with 25, not to mention he went 7-9 in three point attempts. All in all tonight's big win is thanks to the energy this team brought from start to finish.

After the game both Pierce and Davis mentioned that Dwayne Wade is Dwayne Wade, he's going to put up big points no matter what, it's all about their defense stopping the other players on the team from doing the same, and I agree. What they did tonight was amazing, now lets hope they study this game and can repeat the performance.

The Celts will travel to Miami for Friday nights game at 7pm. Hopefully we can see the same team we did tonight, only add a little something we in Boston like to call "The Big Ticket" and watch the magic unfold.:D
