Here at Gino's Jungle we like to give credit to other Celtics blogs and news sources around the web. Although we do own our own blog we are constantly reading great material from other Celtics news sources. With that being said, we would like to take the time to recognize the great work that's out there and give you some good reads for your downtime. Here is today's daily dip of Celtics news.
Boston Globe (Julian Benbow): Gotta have Game 4
""You have to anticipate this game is going to be like a desperation game, just all out for them," Kevin Garnett said. "That’s what we’re anticipating. Nothing more, nothing less from them."
Having won three games three different way, the Celtics have looked like a different team than the one that battled inconsistency throughout the regular season."
ESPN Boston (Chris Forsberg): Sweep dreams?
"After the team engaged in a film session Saturday afternoon, "sweep" was a taboo word. Even though no team in NBA history has ever lost a series in which it has held a three-game lead, the Celtics suggested they were approaching Game 4 as if it was a more familiar Game 7 (of those 85 best-of-seven series, 24 have gone to a winner-take-all game)."
Celtics Blog (Greg Payne): Paul Pierce goes from steady to spectacular
"And you know what happened. He whittled the time away above the three-point arc...6 second...5 seconds...4 seconds...3 seconds...2 seconds...then he zipped to the right, dribbled once, stepped back, and faded. Wright's hand extended outward to contest, but in the replay you can clearly see Pierce's wrist flick over Wright's hand, proving he wasn't all that bothered on the final play. Buzzer. Swish. Game."
WEEI (Paul Flannery): The Three-Pointer
"In Game 1 of this series, which feels like another lifetime ago, Quentin Richardson made his comments about Pierce faking injuries, which despite their bad blood, only goes to show just how far the perception has grown. That’s unfortunate because Pierce has always played through his injuries. This isn’t exactly J.D. Drew were talking about here. If anything, the Celtics have leaned too heavily on Pierce’s willingness to play when maybe he shouldn’t."
Celtics Town (Jay King): Celtics announcer doused by angry fan's drink
"What if the Celtics’ radio announcer, Sean Grande, was standing in front of you blocking your view? What if he refused to sit down throughout the entire game, even as you berated him with expletives? What if you complained to security about the issue, and they did absolutely nothing about it? What if the announcer was so unfazed by anything you did that he continued to call the game even as you cussed his ear off? You’d throw a drink all over his head as soon as your team lost a heart-breaker at the buzzer, that’s what."
