About midway through the first I could tell we needed more from The Big Ticket. He started very slow, but slowly picked it up before the half. The second half was a big black hole for KG. Where was he? Where was his head? What was he doing?
16 points... Okay not bad on 7-16 shooting. That isn't terrible. It's not great, but not terrible. 4 REBOUNDS. Not good. He was getting out jumped, and out hustled all night. His defense (which could have been slightly limited due to the fact that the officiating was allowing ZERO contact) was way below average. Gasol is good, but Garnett made him look like he should be in the conversation of best Power Forward ever.
We WILL see more from KG in Game 2...
13 points and 8 assists. He was never in foul trouble, so that didn't limit him. He was hustling in spurts, not throughout the entire game. We are not getting the same Rondo we saw late in the Cavs series and at the beginning of the Magic series. If we don't get that Rondo back, it will be a very difficult series.
He needs to do a better job at leading the passing, and getting on the glass. It also wouldn't hurt if he would make the gimme layups instead of making them more difficult than needed (just saying)...
If these players turn it on, and Ray Allen plays more (he won't have another 5 foul game), we will be much happier fans after Game 2...
