Walking from NH to NY will earn a man Celtics tickets

Before Game 1 of the NBA Finals I made the claim that I would probably give up a vital organ to get NBA Finals tickets. I can't quite decide if I really would or not, but I would probably do some crazy things to get into that building for Game 3, 4, or 5. One thing I'm not sure I would do is take a almost week long journey on foot from New Hampshire to New York.

That is what one New Hampshire man is doing to receive tickets to Games 3, 4, and 5 from his friend in New York. Tyler McGill, from Rye N.H has already started his 200+ mile walk to New York in hopes to see all three games at the TD Garden. According to WEEI.Com McGill started the journey Tuesday night but was limited to eight miles due to rain.

Via WEEI.Com:

"“Basically, two of my buddies got three seats to all of the Celtics home games in the finals,” McGill told Seacoastonline.com. “All I had to do was ask, ‘What would it take to get me all of those tickets?’ They said, ‘Walk from the Garden to New York City and we’ll get you to all the games.’"

All I have to say is this guy better get his money's worth at the Garden. I can understand sleeping at the Garden for tickets, but walking 200+ miles by yourself is extroadinary. I give this guy a lot of props and praise him on his dedication to this team. It just goes to prove that Celtics fans are the best fans in sports. I will never live the see the day a Lakers fan pulls of something like this.

As a former NH seacoast resident (Hampton) I have to tell you, Tyler that I am so proud of you for having the fortitude and singlemindedness to accept this challenge. I know you will finish your trek. I wish for you that the Celts. play all the games well, with focus and purpose, and that they clinch for you in the fifth game. (And that is saying something, because I am betting against myself...I have them picked in 6, ha ha ha.) Go Tyler! Go Celts!
