The Earth Sets Itself Back In Alignment

Be sure to read the plan for Gino's Jungle...

The earth as we knew it was about to end this past Thursday after the Celtics lost at home to the Lakers. That was the teams 3rd loss in 4 games, 2 of which were at home and the one road loss was against the sub .500 Charlotte Bobcats. Some people even went so far as to take the step in saying, "See! We need some changes before the trade deadline! This team doesn't have a chance this year.. Too many injuries!" To which I said, "Calm it."

4 days later everything is right back where it belongs. In fact, it is even better than where it belongs. Going into Thursday's game the Celtics had a 1 game lead on the Miami Heat and a 3 game lead on the Los Angeles Lakers. The loss created a tie against the Heat (in the loss column) and only a 2 game lead on the Lakers (again, in the loss column). Things weren't quite as comfortable as they had been for the majority of the season.

Well in a lucky draw the Celtics got the chance to face the Heat yesterday, and the Lakers had to continue their road trip. A win against the Heat would put the C's up not 1 game but 2 games.. Check. A loss for the Lakers would put them back down 3 games (to where it was before Thursday night)... Check. Heck the Lakers even flopped tonight in a game against the Bobcats so they currently sit FOUR games behind the C's.

It's amazing what a few days can do. From "Oh no! We are going to die!" to, "Ahhhh.. The life!" Be prepared for more ups and downs, though. The season isn't nearly over. Just next time when it does hopefully we can all take a step back and look at what's really going on and how good this team is when it is a full roster!
