According to the Boston Globe, Bill Walker will be out for 6-8 weeks with a torn meniscus. The Celtics will be around a month into the season once he has recovered. Its to bad for Walker. This preseason would have been a time where he could show that he could play. In the preseason games he would have received plenty of playing time to prove (or disprove) whether he deserved regular season minutes. I just wished that option was up to him, not his health. Now, Walker will be coming back directly in the middle of a group of guys who have become comfortable being on the floor with one another. Chances are he will be inserted into a game we are winning, and given but a few minutes to show what he can provide. That will be tough for him as he will already be behind, and the limited time he goes in will be what makes or breaks his role to the team.
